We are a UK based Product Design consultancy with offices in London and Nottingham. All clients benefit from having the complete design to manufacture process available in house. We have a dedicated, multi-disciplinary team creating innovative and contemporary products, all of which benefit from built in manufacturability. We have a proven ability to work from initial concept through to implementation, maintaining the desired aesthetics of your product.
Since 1984 we have been the chosen product design partners for entrepreneurs, small businesses and blue chip companies alike, designing, developing and manufacturing beautiful products. Our experience covers extensive knowledge in all aspects of product development, utilising product design and innovation skills, including front end insights, collaborative & individual ideation, product aesthetics & styling, detailed development of components & mechanical assemblies for production, feasibility model making, computer rendering and presentation prototypes.
During this process we will often incorporate electronic engineering – developing how the electronics control your product, this generally includes embedded micro-processors and software design

Following front end research and development, our highly skilled team will then progress into the concept product aesthetics & styling phase, this typically involves the creation of a small team of 3 or 4 designers that begin by hand-sketching, creating hundreds of small development sketches. These sketches will be continuously evaluated on criteria such as styling, ergonomics, cost, function and manufacturability. We actively encourage the customers to get involved at this stage, to ensure the best design outcome possible. The culmination of this phase is presented to the client as photo-realistic renderings for appraisal.
Following evaluation and feedback, we will progress to a final sign off concept.
We have experience in creating visuals for a wide variety of different products and sectors and are able to offer interior and exterior views, product visuals and packaging solutions for both still visuals or animations.
Photo realistic renders are widely used instead of photography for presentations, advertising, packaging, web and tradeshow media. We combine CAD design files, materials, lighting and photo-retouching techniques to create beautiful visuals. Renders provide flexibility for easily updating parts and colours. Animations and VR object turntables are also great for showcasing your product in meetings and online.
3D INDUSTRIAL DESIGN ENGINEERING
Using the chosen product design concept we would then progress to the mechanical development of components, culminating in fully engineered 3D CAD assemblies which in turn can be used in the manufacture of the product or the creation of visualisations. At this stage all manufacturing elements are considered and integrated into the design, including draft angles, uniform wall thicknesses and split lines – typically involving designing out possible issues with warpage, distortion, shrinkage, cracking and sink marks.
Our designers are experienced in the use of 3D CAD software using Solidworks as our primary choice for all 3D modelling and engineering.
The combination of our aesthetic and technical engineering knowledge, create a highly effective product design solution.
Our experience ranges from 1 component products to products with more than 300 parts.
Our team will produce fully working prototypes or styling models for you. Proof of principle prototypes are created using our in-house 3D printer. Presentation prototypes are achieved by using SLA, SLS or CNC Machining to give the look and feel of the finished product.
Our product design team are very proficient at producing 2-D Detailed Engineering Drawings, for use in both prototyping and production. All drawings follow BS 8888:2013. We are able to offer the finished drawings in a number of file formats including PDF, DXF and DWG.
We also produce drawings for patents and design registrations.
We work on all aspects of graphic design; from logos to packaging graphics through to website design and instruction booklets.
What ever stage your at with electronics design, whether it’s only having a very basic idea of what you are after to a nearly complete circuit design that just needs tweaking, we can help you every step of the way to a complete circuit design.
Included within electronics design we are able to offer the option of embedded micro-processors and software design to suit your individual needs.
Our extensive knowledge in packaging design means we are able to bring your products and brands to life. We know that packaging can make or break a product when it is on the shelves, which is why it is a very important stage in the design process and should not be overlooked.
Our designers will create a series of packaging concepts that ensure your product stands out from its competitors on the market, capturing the end users attention and increasing the chances of them ultimately buying your products.
Our experience spans a vast number of industry sectors including retail, industrial, household and medical.
We’ve had great customer service, they are responsive, always helpful and always go the extra mile to deliver what we’re requesting.
Centreline developed the product, branding, website and manufacturing. Everything has been done in house and was an evolving process, which was really good.
Let’s introduce our team of creative people.
